Multiple Accounts

Back up Gmail and Outlook accounts from one app.

Adding a Gmail account

  1. Open Settings (gear icon in the sidebar).
  2. In the Accounts section, click “Add Account”.
  3. Click “Sign in with Google” and complete the authentication.
  4. The new account appears in the sidebar and starts syncing automatically.

You can add as many Gmail accounts as you like. Each account syncs on its own and keeps its emails in a separate folder.

Adding an Outlook / Microsoft account

BeeMail supports Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live, and Microsoft 365 (work/school) accounts.

Step 1: Enable IMAP in Outlook

Before adding your account, you need to make sure IMAP access is turned on:

  1. Sign in to your account at outlook.live.com.
  2. Click the gear icon (Settings) in the top right corner.
  3. Navigate to Mail > Sync email (or search for “POP and IMAP”).
  4. Under POP and IMAP, set “Let devices and apps use IMAP” to Yes.
  5. Click Save.

Important: If IMAP is not enabled, BeeMail will connect to your account but won’t be able to download your emails. This is the most common setup issue with Outlook accounts.

Step 2: Add the account in BeeMail

  1. Open Settings and click “Add Account”.
  2. Click “Sign in with Microsoft”.
  3. Sign in with your Microsoft account and approve the permissions.
  4. The account appears in the sidebar and starts syncing automatically.

Your Microsoft password is never stored by BeeMail. Authentication is handled securely through Microsoft, and only a time-limited access token is saved on your computer.

IMAP accounts (other providers)

BeeMail also supports connecting to any email provider via IMAP — including Yahoo, Fastmail, iCloud, and self-hosted servers. Click “Add IMAP Account” and enter your server details.

Switching between accounts

All connected accounts appear in the sidebar. Click an account name to view only that account’s messages. The sidebar also shows labels for the selected account, letting you drill down further.

Cross-account search

The search bar searches across all accounts by default. Type a query and results from every connected account are displayed together, sorted by date. You can narrow results to a single account by selecting it in the sidebar before searching.

Disabling or removing an account

In Settings > Accounts, you can disable an account (pauses backups without deleting anything) or remove it entirely. Removing an account clears it from BeeMail, but your backed-up email files stay on your computer.
